Aortic valve replaced by the team of Dr. KK Sethi and Dr. Kabir Sethi

TAVI in a high risk patient with rare combination of Severe Pulmonary Hypertension, Congenital Bicuspid Aortic Valve with severe Eccentric Calcification, Calcified Right Ilio-femoral Vessels
Mrs. SN suffered from an incurable disease of lungs called Unexplained (Idiopathic) Pulmonary Hypertension (High BP in lungs) since 2004. She remained well with a combination of medicines including blood thinners (anticoagulants). Of late she developed progressive, severe narrowing of her Bicuspid Aortic Valve (2 cups), present since birth (normal 3 cusps) causing angina and severe giddiness on walking. She was a surgical reject because of her lung condition.
Her aortic valve was replaced (TAVI) by the team of Dr. KK Sethi and Dr. Kabir Sethi via a 1 cm cut in left thigh, making access through the left sided blood vessels, resulting in complete resolution of obstruction without valve leakage. She was discharged after 4 days, without complications and rapid improvement in her clinical condition.
